I have been a governor at Norbury Hall Primary School since 2012. I am currently Chair of Governors. I became involved as a governor when I was on maternity leave as I wanted to use my professional experience to support the school. I have enjoyed working with the leadership team as they continue to provide quality first teaching in a safe and healthy environment, despite the financial challenging times and the changing political priorities. As a resources committee we strive to ensure that the school makes best use of the limited funding we receive to give the learners the exciting and inspiring education they deserve.
At the last FGB Meeting held May 2023 Carolyn declared no business interests
James Wellens – Vice Chair Resources Committee Shadow Chair. Pay Appeals Committee. Governor for Diversity and Inclusion.
I have been a member of the Governing Board of Norbury Hall since 2013, initially serving as a Parent Governor, and since 2017 as a co-opted governor. Prior to this I was treasurer and then vice-chair of the Parents Association for several years. My eldest two children both attended Norbury Hall, and my youngest is currently a pupil. Since 2020 I have been Vice Chair of the Governing Board, and Chair of the Resources Committee, and the knowledge and experience I have gained from a career in retail management have aided my involvement and contributions to this committee.

I’ve been a governor at Norbury Hall since September 2014 – initially as a parent governor and latterly I was co-opted. I sit on the resources sub-committee and am the EYFS governor within the board. I’ve had an association with the school for some time as my two daughters are pupils. I also took over Norbury Hall’s before and after school provision in 2018. I work within the early years childcare sector, and for many of the children I care for their next step is onto Norbury Hall. As such, I have a great passion for seeing all children encouraged to achieve well and perform to their full potential at the school, and find it very rewarding to see just how pro-actively the school team and governing body work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for all pupils, within a safe and supportive environment.
At the last FGB Meeting held May2023 Rebecca declared business interests as Manager of Little Tinkers Childcare , providers of wraparound care at the school as well as owning and running a local Early Years Provision.

My youngest daughter currently attends Norbury Hall Primary School and I was pleased to be appointed to the Governing Board as a Parent Governor in November 2018. I attend meetings of the Full Governing Board and the Learning and Teaching Committee. I also attend training sessions organised by GOVAS (Stockport Governors Association) and the Local Authority and I am often invited to school events and activities.
I work full-time as a Senior Governance Officer in higher education and I have a sound knowledge of strategic governance and experience of the current challenges facing the education sector. I feel it is important to give children the best possible start to their education, not only in an academic sense but also in wider areas of learning, personal development and enrichment. The school is a huge part of family life and the local community and I am keen to support the vision and values in supporting the children to be happy, healthy global citizens.
