PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION

What do we do?

The Norbury Hall School Parents’ Association is a registered charity, and that means that we have an official constitution that sets out what we do in formal terms. Our charitable objectives are:

To advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by
1. Developing strong relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with Norbury Hall;
2. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

What that means in practice is that we try to have a lot of fun, organising events that the children, the parents and caregivers, and the staff will all enjoy, and that raise funds for the school. The money that we raise is used to pay for things that enhance and enrich the school and provide extra learning resources for the children. This can be anything from bike racks and outdoor learning equipment, to educational subscriptions and online learning, to Meet the Author and Dental Playbox sessions, and whole school trips. Every penny we make goes back into school.

How do we do it?

We raise the funds by holding all sorts of different events throughout the year. These range from the Christmas and Summer fairs, to the school discos for the children, and additional events for our parents and friends. During the year, we hope that you’ll come along and support these events, and have a lot of fun in the process.

Who does it?

All these events are planned, organised and manned by parent volunteers, and without them, the Parents’ Association simply wouldn’t exist. We hold about one meeting a term and we’re very lucky to have great support from both parents, caregivers, and the school. Everyone is welcome, we love new faces, so if you’d like to get involved, come and be part of the team!

How do I get involved?

Anyone who is a parent or carer of a child at Norbury Hall can come along to a meeting, or offer to help at an event, and you can take part as much or as little as you can! If you’d like to help out and get involved just come along to one of our meetings, or one of our events, and say hello. Or, drop us an email or get in touch via our Facebook page. Upcoming Events

School Disco – Friday 7th February
Join us for disco, dancing, glitter, pocket money and sweet stall fun!
Infants – 6-7pm, Juniors – 7.15-8.15pm
Admission £2 and includes a free drink
This is a drop and go event, although Nursery parents are asked to stay and accompany their child.

Uniform Sale – Friday 28th February
Grab a bargain at our uniform and dressing up clothes sale! We ask for donations of uniform in good condition to be sent in during the week and then have a stall in the hall or playground on the Friday after school. All proceeds go back into school.

Ladies Night – Friday 6th March,
7.30pm, Hazel Grove Bowling and Tennis Club
One for the adults – and just our ladies for this one! Come and join us for a look at the new season line-up from SOS in Bramhall, modelled beautifully by our Norbury Mum volunteers! There’s a fully stocked, licensed bar and a glass of fizz on arrival. Tickets are £5, letters have gone home in book bags, however if you need another one or want to buy tickets, email us at norburypa@gmail.com. We receive commission on all items sold on the night so treat yourself!
