Each year the children are invited to put themselves forward to be our next class councillors. A Norbury Hall councillor is a pupil, elected by their classmates to represent their views and help improve the school community.
Every class in school from Year 2 and upwards will have two school councillors. We try to do this as fairly as possible, whilst still allowing the opportunity for anyone who wants to take part to do so. Pupils interested should put together a short presentation, no longer than 3 minutes, explaining why they would make a great councillor. This could be a poster, poem, a song or speech. If your child is interested, this needs to be completed by Monday 29th September 2025. All children interested will then be given the opportunity to share their presentation, in class to their peers during the week. As a class, the children will then fairly vote. They will be voted for in class and two new school councillors will be elected. The meetings for our new school council will always be held during the school day. Last year the councillors took part in various different projects, raised money for our chosen charities and supported the PA. I would like to wish all those interested the best of luck. If your child is unsuccessful this year, they have an opportunity to put themselves forward again next year. Many thanks, Sian Murphy Dear Parents,
The school councillors would like me to remind you about our upcoming fundraising event next Wednesday 19th March. Pupils have been asked to remain in their school uniform, but wear odd shoes for the day. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £1 and an item of food to donate to our chosen charity-Stockport Food Bank. All money raised will be split between Stockport Food Bank and Make a Wish. The office have set up online payment via school money. The councillors would like to thank everyone in advance for your support. Many Thanks, Mrs Cooney and School Council Fundraiser 19th MarchDear Parents and Carers,
We are holding a fundraiser on Wednesday 19th March to support Stockport food bank and Make-a-wish. We would like each child to bring in £1 and a tin or food item of your choice. On this day we would like everyone to wear odd shoes. (The crazier the better!) A bit about the charities: We are supporting Stockport food bank to provide three days, nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people. On the other hand, Make-a-wish is part of a global movement that grants life changing wishes that have the power to turn tears into cheers. We thank everyone for your support. We can’t wait for this exciting day to come! Many thanks, |
