Dear Parents and Carers, The half term is racing away. The children continue to settle in their classes and are really focused on their learning. Thank you, as ever, for you continued support. Mental Health Awareness Day This Friday (10th October) is World Mental Health Awareness Day. As previously shared with you, we would like the children to come wearing something yellow. This can be a small splash of colour or head to toe in yellow! We will be talking with the children, in an age appropriate way, about mental health during the day. Parent / Teacher Consultations We will shortly be sending you an email from ‘Parents Booking’ who are the online platform system we use to organise Parent / Teacher Consultations. This allows you to choose, book and edit the meetings scheduled with the class teacher. These will take place on; Tuesday 4th November – 3:30pm - 7pm Wednesday 5th November – AM (Nursery only) Thursday 6th November – 3:30 pm – 6 pm The log in screen is very simple and straightforward to use, no username or password is required. The platform is now live and will close on Friday 24th October at 12 noon. Lost Property At the end of last year, we had an exceptionally large amount of lost property. We are determined to be more successful this year! We are reminding the children weekly in assemblies to ensure they look after their things and to speak with adults at home to make sure names are in items so that anything lost can be returned. At the end of each half term, we will be bagging up the lost property and keeping it for one further school week after the break before recycling it. We will go through the lost property collection at this stage and return anything that is clearly labelled. Please can I ask that you check every item that could be lost is named. If you would like to purchase name tags for your child’s clothing, we have registered with My Nametags. This also gives commission to school so will help us. To access this please go to www.MyNametags.com and enter the school ID when you reach Shipping Details. The school ID is 30706 Road Safety Thank you to those of you who park responsibly at morning drop off and afternoon pick up. We have seen a real improvement in this area and this can only be beneficial to the safety of all our children. Those of you who are local residents will have received a consultation as part of the Road Safety Around Schools programme which is co-ordinated by Stockport Council. They are proposing traffic calming and awareness measures for the immediate locality around school. The consultation has now closed but the Team Leader for this work at the council has asked me to share the concerns of some local residents around idling engines and the impact this has on the environment. If you park up early and are waiting in your car, please give this your consideration. Please could I also remind parents that you should not be using the school car park unless you have an arrangement with school to do so. Christmas 2025 We are in the process of finalising dates for Christmas events. Some are outlined in the diary dates below. Please be patient with us as we finalise other dates. I will get these out to parents as soon as possible. Best wishes Becky Wood Dates for your diary
