Each year a new school council is elected through a democratic process. There are always so many pupils eager to take on this role. The council consists of two pupils per class from years 2-6. As school councillors, the children meet on a regular basis to discuss matters around school life, the building, areas they would like to develop, charities to support, fundraisers and more. Previous councillors have taken part in Stockport Climate Action. This involved participating in a live debate at the Town Hall, on the subject of environmental change. We often have visiting speakers to discuss the charities we have supported.
This year the councillors are working hard alongside our PA to promote a safe school environment, encouraging safe parking. They have already organised a competition around safe parking and designed eye-catching slogans for outside school linked to parking. The councillors are keen to run a number of fundraisers this year to support our charities and plan to run a stall at the summer fair.
